OIC has published a draft of amendments to OIC 32

The OIC has published a draft of amendments to OIC 32 – Financial Derivative Instruments for public consultation.
With these amendments, the OIC proposes to:

Classify the Fair Value (FV) of derivatives used for management purposes to hedge price risk under a specific item within the operating section;

Clarify that a contract stipulating the obligation to purchase electricity for own consumption directly from a renewable energy plant is not considered a derivative, unless the amount of energy resold exceeds the amount consumed;

Clarify that it is possible to hedge a variable nominal amount of electricity, aligned with the expected generation of the reference plant.
